Mike Savlen has mastered the revolutionary art of digital painting. About his new artwork, Mike has said, "I have been painting digitally off and on for a long time. Mostly for composing shapes, colors and values. What I have realized recently is, that with modern technology I can paint right on my computer screen and produce results that are as stunning as traditional media." Process:

Here's his new process in an over simplified form: Mike starts with a blank canvas and the picture of his client's choice. He paints a picture with brushes and his bold color palette, just like Mike would do with any other painting. Unlike his traditional work, he creates these new original paintings with digital brushes that are custom replicas of the actual brushes he uses in the studio. These new paintings are still created using his unique style and the techniques that have taken him forty years to perfect. Each piece of artwork takes almost as long as traditional media, which is generally between three and four weeks. Then, please allow another two weeks for printing, varnishing and delivery. This revolutionary process allows Savlen Studios to save money on canvas, paints, drying times and other materials, resulting in a significantly reduced cost for the client! The end result is a custom tailored, original, printed on artist's canvas that is stunningly similar to an oil painting.
