Protection and display of your new artwork

Original artworks and limited edition prints are generally produced on archival quality canvas or board with only archival materials. They should be framed by an experienced picture framer, who uses only acid free materials when framing. The collector value is affected if the original condition of the artwork or print is altered in any way by using substandard materials or practices.

To protect your original artwork or limited edition print, the following recommendations should be carefully followed.

1. Keep artwork away from all heat sources and out of direct sunlight.
2. Never mount or attach your originals or prints to a mounting board
3. When framing, only acid free corners or hinges should be used.
4. Never hang artwork, prints, or photography in a damp area.
5. Never store art in an extremely hot or cold area.
6. Always try to avoid touching the image. Handle it only by the border, and
...ensure that your hands are clean, dry, and free from oils and dirt.

Optimal viewing of your artwork requires it be lit from a nearby light source at a relatively sharp angle. Ambient light from windows, lamps, or ceiling lights may otherwise reflect and interfere with proper viewing. Non-glare glass cuts down on the reflection, but may give some images a blurred appearance. A qualified framer can certainly recommend further options.

Artwork and prints that are well cared for can last for generations. These few simple tips can make all the difference in the world.
